Seasons in Peru

Peru has two main seasons in the Andean region:

• Dry Season: May to September
• Rainy Season: October to April

High Season (June - August)

Advantages:

• Perfect weather, sunny days
• Ideal for trekking
• Inca Trail available

Disadvantages:

• More tourists
• Higher prices
• Need to book in advance

Mid Season (April-May, September-October)

Best Option For:

• Avoiding crowds
• Moderate prices
• Still good weather

Low Season (November - March)

Advantages:

• Fewer tourists
• Lower prices
• Green landscapes

Disadvantages:

• Frequent rain
• Inca Trail closed in February
• Some roads can be difficult

Coast (Lima, Paracas): Year-round, best December-March Highlands (Cusco, Arequipa): May-September Jungle (Iquitos, Puerto Maldonado): May-October

• Inti Raymi: June 24 in Cusco
• Independence Day: July 28-29
• Lord of Miracles: October in Lima
